Even Fourth Graders Can Do It!

Wikispaces has been a fun new thing to finally take the time to explore and apply. My students have taken on the challenge of collaborating using Wikispaces to create a script for a short film. Students this past weekend have worked together over the Internet from different homes over the a two day period to create a script for the movie that would answer the question, “What if”, Island of the Blue Dolphins and James and the Giant Peach would be if these two stories collided.  Once a script is in place we can begin a storyboard with camera shots.  We will then go into production.  The final product will be a entry in the 2009 Digital Voice Awards in Los Angeles.

    You are indeed brave to venture off into the world of wikispaces in the classroom. I commend you for giving it a go and making it work. id like to hear your success and failures of these attempts.

    Good going on submitting a project for the digital voice awards. I would like to encourage my teachers to do the same in years ahead.

    Wow, Jason, it’s amazing all the things you are doing with your students with the use of technology. I’m sure your students are getting way more learning out of these projects than if you would teach them the traditional way. Kudos to you!
