Parent Conferences
——————————————————————–
Dear Parents,
It is parent conference time and I have sent out confirmation notices home confirming the times you signed up for at Back to School Night. Some parents have rescheduled and have confirmed the conference time and dates already. If you have not confirmed or scheduled your conference please look at the schedule on the calendar to see if that time still works or if we need to schedule a new time. If you haven’t confirmed or scheduled please contact me by clicking here.
The current conferences that I have dates and times for are on the calendar.
Looking forward to meeting you again and discussing your child’s progress so far this year.

How to log into ThinkCentral.com
——————————————————————–
This is a screencast of how to log into the math curriculum’s online math component. Students can log in at home or at the library and practice their math with an online version of their book, an iTools manipulative piece to practice those concepts that need that visual understanding. This screencast will show you how to log in and briefly highlight some of the components you can use to help with your math skills.
Students should know their log in for this site, but in case they have forgotten it is their lunch code beginning with a lower case “r”, for example “r1234″. This will be both for username and password.

Thematic Attic – Additional Resources
——————————————————————–
Thematic Attic is a great educational store that I buy most of my supplemental materials from. They are located locally and are very helpful in finding the right materials for you. Parents always ask can I have extra work or where can I find other resources to help my child at home. This is a place you can do that. Once you walk in you will see anything and everything you will need to help your child at home. I have included the website link and the map to get there below.

Math Fact Practice Website
——————————————————————–

This website is a site I have used to help students with their math facts. The students are timed and given a percentage correct at the end of the drill. This has helped students with speed and accuracy of basic math facts. You can get to the website by clicking here or by going to the link on the sidebar titled “Support Links”.

UPDATED **
I have linked directly to the Google Doc Survey. The embedding did not work and I am researching why. So you may click on the current link and it will take directly to the survey. Sorry for the glitch.
Hello Parents,
Thanks for coming to Back to School Night. It was nice to meet some of you. Hopefully we were able to answer a lot of questions. Any questions that may have come after last night can be communicated by contacting me by clicking here.
Also, do not forget to take the Technology Survey to let us know some valuable information about technology accessibility at home. You can take the survey by clicking here.
Thank you,
Mr. Seliskar and the Fourth Grade Team

Scholastic Book Orders
——————————————————————–
Hello Parents,
This year all Scholastic Book ordering will be done online. It is an easier way to make your order. You can make the transaction yourself at home. Yes, this will be easier for me also, since I will not be handling any monies and checks that come to school. The books ordered online will still be sent to the school and will be distributed when they arrive.
The due date for the September book order is September 15, 2009. You can visit the Scholastic Website by clicking here. Once on the site you can enter “seliskar” for both user name and password and then start ordering.
May this be easier for you as well for me.
Thank you,
Mr. Seliskar
